The Sportstar III is available in 8x25 and 10x25 models, offers numerous optical, structural and ergonomic features sure to get the attention of hunters and other outdoor enthusiasts looking for quality, value and performance.
The Sportstar III was designed from the outset with optical performance in mind. A true wide angle binocular, it has an apparent angle of view of 65.6 degrees in the eight power model, and a full 65 degrees in the ten power version. The eight power has an astonishing field of view of 429 feet at 1,000 yards, while the ten power model possesses a 340 foot field of view. Both models feature 25mm objective lenses, for exit pupils of 3.1 and 2.5mm respectively. Close focus distance is 8.25 feet in the 8x model, and 11.5 feet in the 10x version.
The Sportstar III incorporates Nikon's precisely ground and polished lens and prism glass that is meticulously multicoated for bright, crisp and sharp images in a variety of ambient light conditions.
In addition to optical advances, the Sportstar III also has structural improvements. Both models are water resistant, can safely be used without fear of leakage in adverse weather, and are just 4" long.
Both of the Sportstar IIIs also feature Nikon's exclusive turn-and-slide rubber eyecups. This allows comfortable eye placement for a variety of viewers. The eye relief for both models of the binocular is 10mm. And the Sportstar III utilizes a rubber coating for quiet and a sure grip, wet or dry.
