Aquamira® Survival Straw: Advanced Filtration to Remove Contaminants and Pathogens
Aquamira has partnered with some of the best manufacturers in water purification to engineer and produc the Survival Straw.
Advanced Filtration Technology
Our powerful and unique emergency water filtration system houses an innovative electro-adsorptive technology that will remove a wide range of pathogens and contaminants, such as bacteria, viruses, and cysts. This technology is typically more efficient when compared with UV/Hollow fibers, carbon blocks, particulate cartridges and ultraviolet technologies.
Higher Performance. NSF/ANSI 42 Compliant
This patented filtration technology offers very high flux rates at lower pressure drops compared to competing technologies with similar biological removal performance. This technology also complies under NSF/ANSI 42 applicable water drinking requirements.
- FSC Chain of Custody Certification
- PEFC Certification
- ISO 45001:2015
- ISO 14001:2015
- ISO 9001:2015
Certified laboratory testing by the filtration media manufacturer ensure the following:
“With a 1E5 – 1E6 CFU/mL challenge concentration we can above 2000 liters/m2 capacity still reach Log 6 level LRV values for E-coli which is equal to - 500,000,000,000 removed CFU of E-coli per m2.”
Ongoing Testing for Filtration Effectiveness & Contaminant Reduction
The Survival Straw utilizes layers of activated carbon, aiding in the reduction of trace pharmaceuticals and particulates, pesticides, herbicides, and other harmful particles, impurities, chlorine and organic compounds.
Aquamira regularly tests the effectiveness of filtration systems against chemical contaminants like chlorine and fluoride. Our testing also utilizes Micron Bead technology to assess the accuracy and sensitivity of a device in detecting or capturing particles within a specific size range (i.e. micrometers for bacteria).
